| Welcome
to the website of the 1st Regiment South Carolina
Volunteer Infantry (Gregg's) and Pee Dee Light Artillery (McIntosh's
Battery) a member organization of the North-South Skirmish
Association (N-SSA). Members of the regiment are primarily
located within the State of Michigan and compete in the Northwest
Territory. Our members compete using firearms of the American Civil War (the War for Southern Independence), both individually and as a team, in the N-SSA's unique competitive format. Competitors use the following firearms: revolvers, rifles, rifle-musket, carbines, smoothbore muskets and repeating rifles. In addition, we also compete with crew served artillery and mortars. Besides firearm competition, some members are also active in researching and competing in period dress competition, both civilian and military. Within this site you will find various information regarding our unit including a brief unit history, our various educational activities and projects, ongoing competitions, and our annual Snyderville Skirmish.
